About
“Art evokes feelings and emotions and can set the tone for the environment. It is a critical element in completing the space.”
…Michael Abrams
Some relationships and spaces are too special to treat as anything less than extraordinary.
Lauren Grey Art & Sculpture partners with corporate and private clients to create truly memorable custom artistic solutions to honor the people, spaces and venues that matter the most – in a way that is just as unique as they are.
AMERICA’S CORPORATE ARTIST
Lauren Grey, the founder and owner of Lauren Grey Art & Sculpture, applies the principles of branding with the creation of very special one-of-a-kind works of art. Their commissioned sculptures grace the homes and offices of major corporations, are in collections in more than 40 countries around the world and are held in two presidential libraries: the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum.
Commissioned art is more than just a luxury for Lauren Grey’s clients; it is a unique gift that strengthens stakeholder affinity and loyalty. Lauren Grey takes the time to understand what your organization stands for and why it is special, to be able to create a true and honest representation of just how unique you and your people, products or services are.
ART ISN’T FOR THE ARTIST
As a young child, Lauren Grey wanted to be a race car driver, an oarswoman on wild rivers, a horsewoman, and a sculptor – and she has done them all. However, she believes her life’s purpose is to touch people’s lives through art.
As a girl, Lauren would sit on the shore of Lake Michigan making shapes from the clay that washed down the cliffs. As a teen, Evanston High School gave her a private studio in which to create her work. She was lucky enough to study sculpture with nationally renowned sculptors, learning bronze casting from Ralph Bormacher, metalsmithing from John Kearney, modeling from Henry Gamson, painting from Cosmo Compoli, and she studied sculpture at the famous Ox-Bow School of Art in Saugatuck, Michigan. Ms. Grey believes these opportunities came to her so that she could learn to create art that would touch people’s lives.
“My artistic gifts are not for me, but for my clients, which is why I exclusively create commissioned works of art,” says Grey .
THE ARTIST WHO WON’T MARRY A MEDIUM
Ms. Grey has an innate ability to understand ALL materials and how to use them in new and unusual ways. She comes into a project with no preconceptions, no materials in mind, and no box to shove her clients into.
She does not specialize in any specific material, size, or style, and she has never created two things that are similar, never used a material the same way twice.
YOUR ART. YOUR WAY. YOUR BUDGET.
Says Grey, “When you commission us for a major work of art, we start with your goals, budget, timeline, and installation location to determine the complexity of a piece of art including imagery, size, and materials. I listen with my heart and mind to truly understand your company, your product or service, your business. Then I create a work of art that speaks to your needs, whether they be purely aesthetic or of a marketing or branding nature.”
“When your goal is to demonstrate appreciation for your clients, I delve deep to learn who your clients are and what makes them tick. Then I design and manufacture gifts that are so beautiful, so magnificent, and so memorable that we do not need to brand them because the recipient will forever remember who gave it to them.”
“I build a relationship with each client that is focused on satisfying them and executing their vision. I care about your business, and I am committed to giving you the highest value for your money, and I see each project through to flawless execution. Most importantly, I have your best interests at heart.”
“That is why I am a phenomenal commission artist! Because I understand that you are the client and your needs are the only ones that matter.”
YOUR R.O.I.
Here are just a few ways custom art from Lauren Grey Art & Sculpture has created a return on investment for clients:
- TENANT RETENTION. Replacing a high-end tenant is expensive. Lauren Grey has created projects for 1 million+ sq. ft. commercial office buildings in Chicago to enhance properties with a beautiful sculpture or work of art as a way to add value to the property as well as a level of prestige that high-end tenants appreciate. Property management companies like CBRE, The John Buck Company, U.S. Equities Real Estate, MB Real Estate, Hamilton Partners, and Lincoln Property Company have all commissioned art, from monumental to small scale, to strengthen bonds with tenant. Whether defining a lobby, holiday gifts for thousands of tenants, or ‘thank you gifts’ for lease signers, Lauren Grey Designs has profoundly changed the way property management firms interact with their tenants.
- CORPORATE IDENTITY. Set your company apart by commissioning a sculpture that represents your corporate identity or logo for your lobby or courtyard. The Chicago Stock Exchange commissioned the sculpture “Global Vision,” representing the complex world of financial markets through copper figures that embody the trading members and rods of light that represent the intricate communications networks that make international trading markets possible.
- ENHANCE PUBLIC SPACES. World Book Encyclopedia commissioned a monumental “Children of the World” bronze sculpture, which they donated to the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital when they closed their own headquarters. Ms. Grey still receives letters from parents who share how this piece eases their minds during a time of emotional turmoil. A 21” cast bronze version of sculpture is held in the Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas. And another sits on a pedestal next to the desk of former President Carter in The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library.
- ALUMNI RECOGNITION. Universities can use art as a creative way to honor exemplary graduates of their alumni community, enhancing the prestige of the schools and creating a competitive advantage in recruitment. IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law commissioned a full wall sized sculpture for their lobby to recognize alumni who had gone on to become Federal and State Judges.
- DONOR APPRECIATION. Nonprofits and Universities need to thank donors to their capital campaigns in a way that is proportionate to the level of support. Lauren Grey creates custom gifts to show appreciation at multiple budget levels because all donors are important.
- EMPLOYEE OR VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS. When morale is low, your staff needs to know their work is appreciated – and catalog gifts just won’t do. Show them you care with custom gifts that they will treasure for a lifetime.
- CREATIVE PRODUCT LAUNCHES. When you are launching a new product line and you need to tell your potential customers about it in an exciting new way, art can capture curiosity and interest in an unexpected way.
- HOLIDAY GIFTS. At a time of year when stakeholders are bombarded with meaningless trinkets, make your company stand out with a more exciting, more memorable gift that is so unique it will not require branding because they will forever remember who gave it to them.
- UNIQUE MUSEUM GIFTS. Companies running gift stores for museums and attractions around the country need to have fresh ideas and products to sell.
