CHERISHED GIFT, Cast Bronze

Cherished Gift, a half-life sized bronze, represents a native mother with her new born, her ‘cherished gift’. This was one of the rare occasions when Lauren Grey had the time to create a sculpture just for the sheer joy of creating. Her love of America’s Southwest inspired this tender piece.

The large piece is complex and required casting in one piece, with the exception of the hair bun. The patination process, the coloring of the bronze that brings the sculpture to life, is complex. There are 4 different patinas required, one for skin tones, another for the dress, and two different ones for the hair.

This sculpture is a limited edition of 10 and most of the edition is sold.
