PULLING THE SPIKE, Bronze Sculpture

Pulling The Spike was originally created as a macquette for the Public Art Commission competition for the City of Aurora, Illinois’ Aurora Transportation Center. As much as 50% of the population of Aurora worked for the railroads at any one time throughout its history. This sculpture was designed as a tribute to those men and women who built the West with their vision and hard work. The actual sculpture selected for the commission was The Journeyman (see Metal and Stone Sculpture).
